Dr. Stephanie Lechlitner
Dr. Stephanie Lechlitner is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist originally from northern Indiana. Dr. Lechlitner studied at Purdue University while playing on the Women’s Club Soccer Team and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa national honor society and graduated with the distinction of a Gold Key Scholar. Dr Lechlitner also served on the Student American Optometric Association as Trustee during her time at the University of Houston. She is the former president of the Central Texas Optometric Association and is still an active member. Dr. Lechlitner is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Associations, and the National Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Lechlitner first joined the Oak Hill Eye Care team as a 4th year student intern in 2014. She also did clinical internships in specialty clinics in Houston, TX as well as a community clinic in Dallas, TX. She was happy to return to Oak Hill Eye Care fulltime in 2017 after starting her career in downtown Austin at a private practice. She has extensive experience in primary care optometry, specialty contact lenses, myopia control, dry eye treatment and management, co management of refractive surgical techniques, emergencies including trauma and infections, diabetic exams and glaucoma treatment and management.
Dr. Lechlitner lives in south Austin with her husband, Ben, a Round Rock native, their son Reid, and their dog and cat. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active by playing soccer and sand volleyball, indoor cycling, cooking, reading, and attending Austin FC games.
